Okay, so Birdy’s expected to be the starting point guard of this year’s squad. The first 9 slots, as announced, are as follows:
– C Lisa Leslie (L.A. SpOrks) — Ugh.
– G Katie Smith (Detroit Shock)
– G Sue Bird (Seattle Storm)
– G/F Diana Taurasi (Phoenix Mercury)
– F Tina Thompson (Houston Comets)
– G Seimone Augustus (Minnesota Lynx)
– C Sylvia Fowles (Chicago Sky)
– F Candace Parker (L.A. Sparks)
– G Cappie Pondexter (Phoenix Mercury)
USA has won 5 of 6 gold medals, the latest was Athens. But it shouldn’t be guarantee enough because Australia’s Opals are the fiercest ever — led by Captain Lauren Jackson. Russia (with Becky Hammon) can also be a huge problem, I remember them beating USA in the semis during the last World Championships.

Oh dude, thanks for uploading that photo is better quality than was up on the Storm page. I wanted to save it but it was all pixelated and weird (which I’ve noticed seems to happen to a lot of the photos on storm.wnba.com, meh).
Honestly, I still think the US roster is the strongest in the world? But after seeing how much better the Storm are playing this year, I’ve definitely jumped on the “AD is a shitty coach” bandwagon. *coughs* If the US don’t win gold, that’s gonna be on AD entirely, IMO.

I think Cash should be on considering how well she’s played this season. 😀 And, yeah, I’m glad I don’t have to defend AD’s coaching anymore. 🙂 She’s….mediocre.
