Not the basketball kind, unfortunately (but speaking of that — GO STORM!).
A week ago, I finally managed to drag myself out of my room and walk around the neighborhood. My supposed trip to Yodobashi to check out a cheap lens was in vain but I managed to snap these photos with my trusty 50mm f1.8 and my new-old D80.

My sorrow, when she’s here with me,
Thinks these dark days of autumn rain
Are beautiful as days can be;
She loves the bare, the withered tree;
She walks the sodden pasture lane.

My November Guest
Last Saturday we trudged over to Tachikawa City to roam around the Showa Park. The colors were awesome. It was one of the best photo-sessions in my short lifespan as a pseudo-picture-taker. I dunno if it was because the reds and yellows and oranges were so vivid or maybe because I was just in the right mood. Either way, it was fun, fun, fun. Also, spending the day with awesome friends didn’t hurt. A big shout-out to Guia, Jac, Mayen, Vanush, Sheen, Meemers, and Moogs for such a great day.

Everybody wants to take pictures nowadays.
Some are awesome, with friggin’ amazing talent bringing extraordinary angles and colors out of a normally ordinary and dull scenery, while others are just simply eehheerrrmm *blah* — those who just jump into the bandwagon not really knowing about what they were doing but heck, photography’s cool and everybody’s doing it, so why can’t they?
I dunno which category I should dump myself into. I think I might be part of the latter. It’s been a while since I really had the gana and enthusiasm for anything, be it writing, reading, watching anything, taking pictures of myself, and hell, even making some white noise with my trusty guitar. It’s been quite some time since I’ve been really passionate about something (not even basketball OMG the end of the world as we know it is very near indeed) and lately I’ve just been relying on my tsamba powers.
Whether I like it or not, these tsamba powers will eventually run out. And soon enough, I will be left with a barely-used D40 that I still can’t talk to (so much for trying to navigate through the settings and crap), some pitiful excuse for photos of my pitiful self trying to look as pretentiously-emo as possible, a very over-worked Sony Ericsson k610i phone camera, and a badly bruised ego. Tsk.
Everybody wants to take pictures nowadays that photography is starting to look (or sound) like a friggin’ pop song. Everyone knows it, everyone enjoys it, everyone wants to indulge in it. I’m afraid I’ve lost my eccentricity and my uniqueness and whatever it was that made me feel like I’m a person different from everyone. I’ve become one of the masa that gleefully jumps into the friggin’ bandwagon. Argh. I don’t like this, not one bit.
WTBH, I need a new hobby — a hobby that is not so masa. I need it, now na!

Sheesh.
